The Story Outline

In the not-so-distant past, a crew of four traversed the galaxy in their time-dilating starship of legend—the Continuum. But on one fateful day, the crew found themselves caught in the vortex of a black hole and past the point of escape. Try as they might, they could not figure out how to bring the ship to safety. After exhausting their options, the crestfallen crew abandoned the Continuum, setting it to jump to the edge of the black hole’s grasp as many times as it could before, eventually, it would sail in.

For an indeterminate time, the Continuum has been doing just that. Empty, defenses up, running out of time. With two jump-backs remaining, a crew of four intergalactic scavengers—the player crew—discovers the Continuum and desperately tries to power the legendary ship back on, parsing through its secrets with the hope of changing its fate. As time unwinds and recoils, they will make it farther than the crew once did—and perhaps, learn to choose what the crew could not. (The first rule of space is probably “don’t sail your spaceship into a black hole,” but extraordinary spaceships call for extraordinary measures.)
